After initially receiving a reply from Thomson saying we were not eligible for compensation as the 8 hour delay we encountered was due to a ‘technical fault’ we were not expecting to ever get compensation for the horrendous delay we had at Corfu airport in June 2013.

I was reading up online about ways to get compensation and came across Blueway travel and was attracted by the no win no fee promise as we had nothing to lose.

After reading through the terms and conditions, I forwarded the details of our claim because by my calculations we could receive 400 Euros each with Blueway claiming 20% of whatever we win.

Due to the ever changing landscape of UK law, new cases for flight delay compensations were taken to court and then the supreme court while our case was being investigated meaning our case did take over a year to complete.

Nevertheless, every time I requested an update from Blueway travel they always replied promptly to my emails and kept us informed of any developments.

We have just received a cheque from Thomson for £629 and have paid Blueway their 20% and are very satisfied customers.

I was half expecting extra charges to be added on to their invoice but they were true to their word and billed us for 20 % of the 800 euros VAT.

Thank you Blueway, I would have never had the patience to deal with the constant rejection from the bigger companies!
